Guidelines Against New COVID-19 XEC Variant.
Dear Citizens of Edo State,
The health and well-being of every resident in our state remains our top priority. As part of our collective efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of all, I am urging every member of the public to strictly adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Wear Face Masks:
Always wear a face mask when in public spaces, including markets, offices, places of worship, schools, and public transport. This simple measure protects both you and those around you.
2. Use Hand Sanitizers:
Ensure you regularly sanitize your hands, especially after contact with shared surfaces. Carry a hand sanitizer with you at all times when leaving your home.
3. Maintain Social Distancing:
Keep a safe distance of at least 1-2 meters from others in public places to minimize the risk of transmission.
4. Practice Good Hygiene:
Wash your hands frequently with soap and running water for at least 20 seconds, especially after touching public surfaces or coughing/sneezing.
5. Avoid Large Gatherings:
Refrain from attending crowded events or gatherings unless absolutely necessary. Always prioritize safety over convenience.
6. Report Symptoms Promptly:
If you experience symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or loss of taste and smell, seek medical attention immediately by contacting the nearest health facility.
Let us continue to work together to ensure the safety of our families, friends, and communities. Compliance with these guidelines is not just a personal responsibility but a civic duty.
Together, we can stop the spread of COVID-19 and build a healthier Edo State.
Stay safe and stay healthy.
Signed,
DR Cyril Adams Oshiomhole.
